REST-COAST framework for scaling up nature-based solutions presented at EGU 2026

In May 2026, REST-COAST-related research was presented at the EGU General Assembly 2026 in Vienna, Austria. Organised by the European Geosciences Union (EGU) in partnership with Copernicus Meetings, the annual conference brought together thousands of researchers from across the geosciences community to exchange knowledge, discuss recent scientific developments and strengthen international collaboration.

The poster presentation, titled “Nature-based Building Blocks (NB3) Framework to support upscaling restoration through NbS in coastal adaptation: Theory, practice, and lessons learned”, introduced a framework designed to support the large-scale implementation of nature-based solutions in coastal restoration and adaptation.

The EGU General Assembly continues to provide an important platform for researchers to exchange knowledge, strengthen collaborations and explore innovative approaches to addressing major environmental and societal challenges through open and interdisciplinary scientific dialogue.
