REST-COAST contributes to a new report on research and innovation gaps for climate adaptation in Europe
A new report on ‘Research & Innovation Gaps for Climate Adaptation’ has been published under the EU Mission Implementation Platform for Adaptation to Climate Change (MIP4Adapt).
It provides an overview of key Research and Innovation knowledge gaps identified by the EU Mission Community, through its activities during 2023-2025, and also summarises existing implementation challenges and priority areas for action, many of which span multiple research themes.
The publication was further reviewed and enhanced from several EU Mission projects, including CARDIMED EU, GREENGAGE Project, Climate Impetus, ISMED-CLIM, REST-COAST, DRYAD Project, SMARTER, PRO-CLIMATE, MAGICA Climate Project and JPI Climate, among others.
REST-COAST contributed through its participation in the MIP4Adapt Monitoring and Evaluation Thematic Working Group, with input provided by Marc Mestres Ridge (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, BarcelonaTech).
The report highlights key needs across areas such as stakeholder engagement and governance, monitoring and evaluation, finance and investment, data, tools and platforms, as well as in advancing Nature-based Solutions and transformational adaptation approaches.
