Interactive video gaming session to discover the challenges of coastal resilience
A Coastal Challenge serious game session will take place on 8 May 2026, from 10:00 to 12:00 CET, at the University of Catania, Italy.
The event is co-organised by the CMCC Foundation and the Civil Engineering and Architecture Department of the University of Catania (DICAR), and supported by the REST-COAST project.
Aimed at raising awareness and educating university students about coastal resilience, the session will engage participants through Coastal Challenge, a serious game developed within the REST-COAST project as a tool for exploring coastal resilience in an interactive format.
By integrating game-based learning into an academic context, this approach provides an accessible and engaging way to communicate new approaches, while encouraging critical thinking around nature-based solutions and sustainable coastal management.
Delivery will be in both English and Italian, with facilitation by Massimiliano Marino (University of Catania) and Paola Tanguy (CMCC Foundation).
